Men's Health And Sexual Matters: Solving Premature Ejaculation
About one-third of men have a problem with ejaculating too soon. But for some people, it isn’t good and needs treatment.
Most experts agree that someone is okay if they can have a sexual act for at least seven minutes. But it is a problem if a sexual act lasts less than a few minutes.
Men with premature ejaculation (PE) are too ashamed to go to the doctor. But the condition must be treated because it hurts both the person with it and their sex partner.
PE doesn’t just mean bad sexual experiences for men who have it. It also means having low self-esteem, anxiety, Depression, guilt, a negative view of your body, and much more. In the long run, it could also cause problems with erections and relationships.
Doctors also say that men who think they have PE should make a list of their problems before going to see a doctor. One thing to think about is how fast you ejaculate. Do you ejaculate when you first start making love or after a minute of making love? Also, a person should tell a doctor about any other health problems they may be living with.
Premature ejaculation treatment
Most of the time, PE is caused by psychological or long-term health problems. So, the best way to deal with PE is to treat the underlying health problem and avoid using drugs. Some ways that don’t involve medicines are accessible and still work.
Behavioral techniques
Any treatment for PE must start with things that aren’t drugs. Doctors usually tell people with PE to take a break from sexual activity because it would help their mental health by taking the pressure off. In some situations, this simple advice could help a lot.
The next step is to try to build up the muscles on the floor of the pelvis. Using Kegel exercises is one of the best ways to do this. It’s an easy thing to do. During the training, you tighten your muscles to stop yourself from peeing (remember not to use the lower abdomen or gluteal muscles).
In this technique, a person holds these muscles tight for about five seconds and then lets them go. This exercise is done three to four times a day, about ten times each. You can find a lot of information about Kegel exercises online if you are still trying to figure out how to do them right.
“Pause-squeeze” is another method that works. When you feel like you’re about to ejaculate during sexual activity, stop and ask your partner to squeeze the penis where the head meets the shaft. This would help prevent ejaculation from happening. After practice, a person would start to get better at controlling ejaculation.
Medications
Another easy way could be to use things that make it less exciting to be sexual. For many men, even simple latex protection may be enough. But PE also has its special latex protection. These latex protections have small amounts of anesthetics, which help reduce pain and make sexual activity last longer.
If none of the above ideas worked, you could buy lidocaine or other local anesthetics as a cream or spray. You should use these sprays or creams a few minutes before sex. They reduce sensations a lot and help prevent PE.
Doctors can also give you medicine to help with PE, but this should be your last option because these medicines aren’t good enough to take daily. Since PE is linked to the serotonin pathway, taking antidepressants may help. A doctor may give antidepressants, certain painkillers like tramadol, and other drugs like dapoxetine.
PDE5 inhibitors like sildenafil or tadalafil may also work for some people.
In the end, PE is a common problem for men. There are many ways to deal with the condition, which is good news. Some of the ideas here can be used without talking to a professional. But if that doesn’t work, seeing a doctor is always a good idea.
