What Is The Procedure Involved?

As a man-made growth hormone, Norditropin® is identical to what your body makes and supports growth similarly. The procedure to take Norditropin injection includes:

  • Your doctor will first wipe the area that needs to be injected with an alcohol swab.
  • He/she will insert the Norditropin pen needle into the skin.
  • The doctor will press and hold the pen button until all the liquid returns to the counter “O.” You may feel or hear a click sound.
  • If the liquid dose counter doesn’t return to “O,” Norditropin wasn’t injected successfully.
  • Once the counter reaches point “O” successfully, your doctor may leave the pen needle inside the skin for a few seconds. This ensures the patients get the full dose.
  • Then, your doctor will carefully remove the needle from the skin.

Norditropin injection is indicated for use in the human body for growth failure or short stature due to certain growth-related disorders and adults with growth hormone deficiency.

Norditropin injection price in Malaysia may vary depending on the patient’s needs and necessary dosage. This hormonal growth injection is approved by the FDA even to treat children who are short-stature and who have Noonan syndrome.

How to use Norditropin?

Before And After The Treatment Precautions/ Contraindications

Before starting Norditropin®, inform your healthcare provider about all your medical conditions, including:

  • Any history of heart or stomach issues.
  • Currently facing trauma, any surgery, or serious breathing issues like respiratory problems.
  • Having sleep apnea (problem of improper breathing during sleep).
  • Any history of active cancer or tumor.
  • Have diabetes or heart-related disease.
  • Pregnant/ or on breastfeeding, or planning to start breastfeeding or become pregnant.

Discuss everything with your health provider, including any herbal supplements, vitamins, or allergic medications you have used or used before.

Contraindications:

Norditropin® should not be used for patients with acute critical illness following open-heart surgery, abdominal surgery, or multiple accidental traumas or for those experiencing acute respiratory failure. This precaution is due to the potential risk of increased mortality associated with using pharmacologic doses of the injection in these specific medical conditions.
