Things to do before a Fraxel laser treatment

Pre treatment care is as important as post treatment care. Hence you should follow these rules prior to a Fraxel laser treatment session.

• Avoid sun exposure as well for a few weeks to reduce sun damage prior as well.
• Avoid facial scrubs and Retinoic treatment for a few weeks prior to treatment.
• Use gentle cleansers and avoid toners and exfoliators.
• A healthy diet is also essential. A healthy meal 2 hours prior to the procedure and avoiding caffeine for 4 hours prior to the procedure is essential.

Post fraxel laser treatment, skin care is essential as it prevents side effects and reduces patient discomfort. Hence patients have to stick to the strict rules which are :

• Skin care products used should be gentle and not pore clogging.
• Sunscreen usage is essential especially during post fraxel treatment as the skin is fragile and sensitive. It also prevents further sun damage to the new skin.
• Moisturising is also required during the recovery phase and it is important to make sure the moisturiser are non irritant and hypo allergic.
